What this site collects, what it sets, and who it talks to

Short version: FedCite is a reference site. You can read every clause, form and tool page without giving us anything. We run Google Analytics, which sets two cookies. We show no ads, we have no advertising trackers, and we do not sell anything about you. The only data you can hand us is what you type into the contact form.

Cookies this site sets

Two, both from Google Analytics, both first-party on fedcite.com:

  • _ga — distinguishes one browser from another. Persistent.
  • _ga_NS4YWYKG9Y — keeps analytics session state for this property. Persistent.

That is the complete list. The tools on this site run entirely in your browser and store nothing; the clause, form and SAM.gov pages are static files.

What analytics records

Measurement ID G-NS4YWYKG9Y. The page sends three kinds of event:

  • page_view — which page, referrer, and the coarse location/device/browser Google derives from the request.
  • scroll_depth — how far down a page you got (25/50/75/100%).
  • engaged_time — seconds the tab was visible and you were active.

We added the last two so we can tell "read the clause and left satisfied" from "bounced off the top". They carry the page path and a number — nothing you typed.

Who else your browser talks to

Loading a page on this site contacts exactly three hosts: fedcite.com, www.googletagmanager.com and www.google-analytics.com. There are no ad networks, no social widgets, no session recorders, no A/B tools and no fonts or scripts from anyone else.

The contact and licensing forms

If you submit the form on /contact/ — or the licensing form on the GIBillClock pages — we receive and store the name, email, organization and message you typed, plus the path of the page you sent it from. It is held in our leads database (hosted by Supabase) and used to reply to you. It is not sold, rented, or used for advertising, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

Your IP address is used two ways when you submit: held briefly in server memory to enforce a five-submissions-per-hour limit, and written to the server log alongside your email and the page. Ordinary web-server request logging also applies at our host.

Want it deleted? Ask via the contact form and we will remove it.

Opting out of analytics

Blocking www.google-analytics.com and www.googletagmanager.com — with a content blocker, a privacy-focused browser, or your own hosts file — costs you nothing on this site. Every page is static HTML and works fully with analytics blocked. Google also publishes a browser add-on for opting out of Analytics.

Children

This is a federal-contracting reference. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Who publishes this

FedCite is published by Nightshift Labs LLC, a Nevada limited liability company, which is also the registrant of fedcite.com. Reach us through the contact form.

Changes

If what we collect changes, this page changes in the same release. It describes the site as deployed, not as intended.
